Wally Watson Boston Terrier Young - Adoption, Rescue for sale in Heathrow, Florida

$600

Howdy!

I'm Wally Watson.

I was surrendered to BTRFL after I bit my 1 year old person that was holding pizza down in front of me.

I am a little stingy with my toys when other dogs are around and therefore would be best as your one and only. I like to chase cats and I have a strong prey drive. I would also like to add that I have a very loud snort when I play or am being loved. Sometimes it sounds like I am growling but I am not.

I also alert when danger approaches (as in company or cats or other dogs), I don't just sit on my duff as if I don't notice.

I need a strong leader because if not, with my strong personality, I will

try to take the lead which would not be good for me or my human companions. Therefore, I require a seasoned Boston person for sure, not a novice owner. I need someone who truly knows how to lead me and guide me with my strong personality trait.

Please don't ever abuse me but be firm and consistent with me in training and socializing.

With the right training, I feel I would even make a great Service Dog as I can lay by your chair and amuse myself for long periods of time without a peep. I am a larger throwback Boston Terrier who just needs love and guidance.

I am a lover who loves to be loved on just like the little guys do, I just have my quirks as all Bostons do. If you take me home, I promise to love you and to learn quickly. I am such a wonderful boy and I deserve a loving home.

I am a beautiful dog, especially after having double cherry eye surgery.

My Foster Mom tells me I am now looking very dapper. I am best if walked in a harness and not be attached to anything by my collar since I have been told that if great pressure is put on my head, my eye cherries could pop back out. Please keep that in mind when adopting me. I know my eyes appear a little pink but I am only a week out of surgery.

I also hate to tell you this, but I have an urge to suckle. I suckle my little stuffed babies and it is so relaxing to me. I just feel so at peace. So there, I saved my dearest deepest secret til last.

Everything I have said needs to be taken seriously before asking to adopt me. Please only consider me if you are strong and willing to be my pack leader.

Remember, I am not a great kids dog since I don't like to be teased and I might knock smaller children over because of my size and energy.. Thank you for considering me!

Wally Watson is 14 months old, weighs 28 pounds and would do best in a home as an only pet and only with older, considerate children.

Please keep in mind that some of the dogs posted may not be cleared for adoption quite yet and others may be adopted by applicants who applied prior to you. The Adoption Team works with applicants in the order that they applied when looking to find good matches with the dogs we have available at that time.

As a result, if you wait to apply until you see a dog posted that you like, that dog may be adopted by someone who submitted an application before you.

Please do not despair.

We have dogs coming into our Rescue all the time regardless of whether you see them posted here or not.

Please understand that the process does take some patience since we are all volunteers and life has a tendency to get in the way of our true passion of helping these pups.

If you are interested in adopting, please visit our website to learn about our adoption process and to fill out an application. http://bostonrescueflorida.org/available-for-adoption/adoption-process/

Because we have Boston Terriers of all ages, we have a sliding scale for adoption fees generally ranging from a donation in any amount for seniors to $600 based on the age and health of the dog.

In general the fees are:

$600 - 9 wks to 23 months

$550 - 2 yrs to 3 yrs

$475 - 4 yrs to 5 yrs

$400 - 6 yrs to 7 yrs

$300 - 8 yrs to 9 yrs

For dogs 10 yrs old and older, we just request a donation.

Our fees cover vetting costs, shelter fees, fuel for transport while in the rescue, copying and printing of contracts and paperwork, our website presence, food, boarding, behavioral training and additional medical care. While the dog you adopt may not require all of these things, many other dogs in our system do. By adopting from Boston Terrier Rescue of Florida, you are not saving just one life, you are helping to save others as well.
